If you would like to see a dietitian privately the DAA website has a locater function for Accredited Practising Dietitians (APD)

Search for a dietitian in your area by following the steps below or by calling 1800 812 942

  • Go to DAA website http://www.daa.asn.au/
  • Select ‘Find an APD’ from the menu bar on the left
  • On the ‘Find an APD’ page, use the ‘Location’, ‘State’ or ‘Suburb’ tabs to find a dietitian conveniently located to you.

You can also contact your GP, local hospital or community health centre to find out how to access a dietitian in your area.

  • Scroll down and select ‘Find a Physio;’

If you would like to see a social worker privately the AASW website has a locater function for Accredited Mental Health Social Workers (ACMHSW).

Search for a social worker in your area by following the steps below

  • Go to AASW website http://www.aasw.asn.au/
  • Select ‘Find a Social Worker’ from main bar along the top of the page
  • On the ‘Find a Social Worker’ page, search the directory to find an ACMHSW conveniently located to you.

Please note: Accredited Mental Health Social Workers (ACMHSW) are skilled in supporting people living with cancer.

Patients and families can apply to see an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker through their GP and will be eligible for medicare rebated counselling provided through the Better Access program.
